I must tell you I think Colorado Mountains have to be the most beautiful in the world!
This morning we took off to the top of Pikes Peak. We drove up and it reminded me of the drive on sky line we took yesterday. Sometimes both of us was afraid to take our eyes off the road to look at the view. But when we did it was just beautiful. It took us an hour to drive the 19 miles to the top. The temp dropped down to 52 degrees. The air was very thin and it took our breath to walk from one side to the other. But we did, we took it all in and I don't think the pictures can show the true beauty.
We made sure to buy the famous donuts and they were delicious.
After we came down we drove through Aspen. Again we ended up on roads that ran along the side of the mountain. I wanted to see Aspen myself. It is a very kept up place. Looked like a place the celebrities would hang out. We were going to stop and walk around the shops some but couldn't find a parking place. We were also worried about the road out. If it was like the road we took in we needed to get out in the daylight. But it turned out to be much better.
Seems like we took a wrong turn somewhere along the way but was able to get back where we belonged.
Tomorrow we are heading for Utah and then Arizona. That should keep us busy for the next week.
Good Morning. Just wanted you to know that we will be heading to Lenny's sometime today. We probably won't get back until late Sunday. So in case you need to call me, I'll have my cell phone. Also, Helen wanted me to let you know that she's been following your vacation and has tried to post comments but can't get it to go through. Keep on having a great time. With all the craziness at work all we can do is hope that we will have some place to retire from.
