Back In LA

So things don't always turn out as planned. We were going to take the tour yesterday but without having the ability to print the ticket I had to go to Hollywood Blvd to buy them. It took a while to find the place and the address she gave us was the wrong one. So by the time we bought them it was too late so we are going tomorrow(Friday). We then drove to Death Valley. It is a little bit from here and I think we took a wrong turn because we ended up on a dirt road and didn't see another car for miles. Once we arrived we expected a little western town or something. The only thing there is a visitor center who sent us in the right direction to get the best views. The high was 122 and you sure knew it when you opened the car door. We did climb a small mountain to take a picture, and that was the longest we were out of the car. By the time we were ready to leave it was too late to head to the National Park or LA. We found a small town and stayed the night. We slept late and drove back here. We walked down Hollywood Blvd to the Kodak Theatre area and boy is that a happening place. Lots of tourists and people dressed up as movie stars. There were 2 Michael Jacksons as a boy, spider man and some monster people. Did some window shopping, thought I could use a sweater since it was cool tonight. Went into one store and found one that was nice nothing fancy,$140.00! I decided I really didn't need one after all.

  1. Wow...these pics are great too!!
That dirt road you ended up on looks like one of those places where they carry dead bodies to hide them. And of course, being nobody ever travels that way, they never find them!!! lol :)
Good pic of you and the super heros! Keep the pics coming, I love them.
    Talk to you later.

  2. I want to visit Death Valley. Looks beautiful! You know, there is an ultra marathon called Badwater that people run 135 miles through Death Valley in middle of July. I'm not that crazy (yet). :) We love you and miss you.

  4. OH my goodness, hello everyone!
Connie, I am still with the living but if my blogs come up missing have them look in Death Valley.
Lisa, as your mother-in-law I have some say in the craziness you think of. You can visit Death Valley but if you even think about running there we are going to have to have a serious talk.:) Love and miss you too
Helen. This is a surprise. Great to hear from you. Where Gary is standing there is land behind him. It is salt from where years ago there was a lake and it dried up.
Hey keep the comments coming. I didn't know if I was writing to myself or if anyone was reading.
    Great to hear from ya.
